The Analysis of Components of Salivary Calculi

Abstract
It is generally accepted that salivary calculi are not an uncommon condition in otolaryngology and present a disturbance of salivation,pain and swelling in feeding. Salivary calculi may be found in all salivary gland or duct, but the. majority in the su-bmaxillary gland or duct. Salivary calculi were mainly composed of calcium phosphate, calcium carbonate, and protein.
Authors performed the analysis of components of extracted calculi. by agents(hy¡þdrochioride, phosphoric acid, ammonium oxalate, sodium phosphate) in 18 cases of salivary calculi encountered in past 14 years, we got results.
The results were as following; 38.8% of calcium phosphate, 33.3% of calcium carbonate, 16.6% of magnesium phosphate, 11.1% of magnesium carbonate.
